Principal's Message

Mundare School is a brand new replacement school located on the eastern edge of town. It is a beautiful, bright school with modern amenities such as a full-size gym, CTF foods lab, and bright spacious, art and band rooms. We also have a welcoming school library that has a great collection of fiction and non-fiction resources for every reading level and grade.

The school is home to approximately 170 students and 22 staff members. We currently offer straight grades from ECS through to grade 8. We also house a division program called Play and Learn at School (PALS) for children age 3 – 5. This is program that offers supports and interventions for early learners that have been assessed with severe developmental delays and/or have been assessed with mild/moderate cognitive delays. The EIPS district office provides the assessment that determines whether a student is eligible for PALS.

We have the advantage of being a rural school, rich in tradition combined with a strong sense of family. Our students have the opportunity to experience strong academic instruction differentiated to suit individual learning needs. Junior high students have several complimentary courses each year to enhance their learning. These courses include: art, drama, CTF foods and construction, Scratch, daily physical education, Christian Ethics, Character Education and outdoor education. Field trips may be used to enhance curricular outcomes. Elementary students also have a choice between Character Education and Christian Ethics with the consent of parents/guardians. The music program extends from grade 1 through grade 6 with hand bells and recorder offered in grade 4 and band in grades 5 and 6.

Three class sets of chrome books, one class set of iPads and excellent Wi-Fi capability gives students instant access to any online learning platforms such as Google Classroom and PowerSchool. Most of our teachers are proficient with technology and use it on an ongoing basis.

We have a strong, committed Parent Advisory Council which meets approximately 6 times per year. This committee advises the principal and staff on how they would like to see the school progress in the best interest of student learning and student growth.

We offer a wide variety of sports at the junior high level including Dragon volleyball, basketball, cross country running, golf and track and field. Our junior high teams travel within the district for regular and playoff games. We also host several games and tournaments every year.

Our school has excellent support from parents and the community.  We are proud to contribute and be a part of our community.

Please consult our school website and calendar for all up-to-date information and events at www.mundareschool.ca.
