Welcome to Mundare
East of Edmonton on Highway 16 is the charming town of Mundare. With the main street rehabilitation now completed the the town looks fabulous! The new sidewalks, street lights, hanging planters and the elm trees that were planted create a beautiful setting for residents and visitors alike.
One of the wonderful features of Mundare is the Basilian Fathers Museum, a world class facility of very unique design and an intriguing collection of artifacts. There you can experience the history of the Ukrainian settlement and the Basilian Fathers Mission in Canada.
Adjacent to the museum is the beautiful Ukraina Park Recreation Area. The park provides camping stalls with electrical hookups, shower facilities, picnic shelter, large fire pit, and many other amenities.
Bursting with amenities such as the Whitetail Crossing an 18 Hole Golf Course, this small town boats a hockey area, curling rink, numerous ball diamonds, a water spray park, bowling alley, and a public library.
The Chicken Coop Quilt Shoppe and U-do- it Crafts, are just some of the Retail Stores to enjoy during your visit here.
You wouldn’t want to leave town without picking up your supply of Mundare's World famous Ukrainian sausage from Stawnichy's Meat Processing. It is also home of the world's largest (12.8 Meters high and 6 tons) sausage replica built by the Stawnichy family in recognition of 50 years in Mundare.
